THE AUTHENTIC LOOK OF WOOD, ENGINEERED FOR TEXAS REALITY

There is no substitute for the warmth and character of genuine hardwood. However, the humidity swings in Northeast Texas can wreak havoc on traditional solid wood floors, causing warping and cupping. Pre-Engineered Hardwood offers the perfect solution. By layering real hardwood over a cross-laminated core, these planks resist expansion and contraction, giving you the authentic beauty you desire with the structural stability our local climate demands.

Why Choose Engineered Wood?

  • Authenticity: This is not a print; the top layer is genuine oak, hickory, or maple, meaning no two planks are exactly alike.
  • Installation Versatility: Unlike solid wood, engineered planks can be safely installed in basements and over concrete slabs.
  • Investment: Installing real wood flooring is one of the few home improvements that consistently increases property resale value.

Care & Maintenance

  • Humidity Control: Maintaining a consistent indoor temperature helps preserve the wood’s integrity.
  • Cleaning: Use a microfiber mop and a cleaner specifically designed for hardwood; avoid wet mopping or steam cleaners.
  • Protection: Use felt pads under furniture legs and area rugs in high-traffic zones to prevent scratches.
PROTECTING YOUR INVESTMENT: ENGINEERED WOOD INSIGHTS

Real wood is a timeless choice that requires specific care. Here is everything you need to know about performance, longevity, and how engineered planks stand up to our Texas climate.

  • Can engineered hardwood be refinished like solid wood?

It depends on the thickness of the top veneer (wear layer). Many of our premium engineered options have a thick enough top layer to be sanded and refinished at least once, giving you the longevity of solid wood with added stability.

  • How does engineered wood handle Texas humidity?

It performs significantly better than solid wood. The cross-ply construction allows the planks to expand and contract without warping or cupping, making it the superior choice for the variable climate in Paris, TX.

  • Is engineered hardwood resistant to dog scratches?

While real wood is naturally softer than tile or laminate, our pre-engineered selections come with factory-applied aluminum oxide finishes. This makes them much tougher against scratches than traditional site-finished wood floors.
