Why Choose Tile?
- Total Water Resistance: The smartest choice for bathrooms, laundry rooms, and kitchens where leaks or spills are common.
- Allergen Defense: The fired surface does not harbor dust mites, pollen, or bacteria, making it ideal for allergy sufferers.
- Pet Friendly: Tile is the hardest flooring material available, making it virtually immune to scratches from large dogs.
Installation & Care
- Subfloor Prep: Our professional installers ensure a level surface and use flexible membranes to prevent cracking from foundation shifts.
- Grout Lines: We recommend sealing grout periodically to keep it stain-free, or choosing 'rectified' tile for minimal grout lines.
- Cleaning: The easiest floor to clean—simple sweeping and damp mopping will keep it pristine for decades.
THE FOREVER FLOOR: COMMON TILE INQUIRIES
Tile is an investment in permanence. We answer your top questions about maintenance, grout lines, and comfort to ensure you make the right choice for your home.
Do I need to seal my tile floor?
Glazed porcelain and ceramic tiles are non-porous and virtually stain-proof, so the tile itself does not need sealing. However, the grout lines between the tiles are porous and should be sealed periodically to keep them looking fresh and clean.
Is tile too cold for a bedroom?
Tile is naturally cool, which is a benefit in summer! For bedrooms, many clients use large area rugs to add warmth underfoot, or we can discuss installing an electric radiant heating system under the tile for luxurious warmth in winter.
What is "Rectified" tile?
Rectified tile has been mechanically finished on all sides to ensure it is perfectly square and uniform. This allows for extremely thin grout lines, creating a seamless, modern look that mimics natural stone slabs.
